A WORD FROM OUR FOUNDER

ANGEL

Luntian is the brain child of Angel, the Founder behind the personality and operations of the brand.

A passionate vegan and animal rights advocate, her activism starts on the plate by transforming traditional food into vegan versions, proving that there is so much power found in plants.

She is of mixed Filipino heritage and brings with her a culinary repertoire of Asian cuisines specialising in Filipino, Southeast Asian and Japanese cooking techniques. Her achievements include bagging the 2019 Grand Prize of EPAC’s Vegan Cooking Competition with her award-winning Ginatan dish (a Filipino-style curry).

Luntian means “green” in the Filipino language.

How it all started

Luntian is homage to a culture of eating that revolves around tradition and innovation, using the best of the earth’s bounty. We marry the flavours of Southeast Asia’s hidden foodie gem with the freshness of New Zealand’s local produce to bring the unique goodness of Luntian to Aotearoa plates. We are born out of passionate green energies with the vision of changing Auckland’s dining landscape by introducing new flavours of kinder and more compassionate versions of Filipino-inspired Cuisine to New Zealand plates.

Our mission is to revolutionise Filipino Food by creating vegan versions of it and inspiring New Zealanders to embrace new cuisines and be more conscious of the impact of our food choices and lifestyles to ourselves and the planet.

We are the FIRST ALL-VEGAN FILIPINO FOOD BUSINESS in New Zealand and proudly leading the way and blazing trails in the industry.
